Audio effects

The PolyPulse allows for a variety of audio effects to be added. Each track can hold up to four audio effects and in addition up to four effects can be added in the output FX section.

While conventionally audio tracks in mixers and DAW’s have mono or stereo tracks, the PolyPulse has eight channel tracks. This has several advantages:

  • You can choose at what point polyphonic voices are summed together, and you can choose to process the individual voices before summing them together. For example: a distortion will sound different when one voice is fed through it, in comparison to when multiple voices are summed together and then fed through it.

  • You can use multichannel panners to spatialize your sounds over up eight speakers.

  • You can set up a track to send its signal to a different audio output.

FX switches between the sound engine view and audio effects view.

shift+FX opens and closes the master bus effects.

The audio effects chain is drawn from left to right, starting right next to the synthesis engine. Each audio effect has a unique square visualization and small lines between the square indicate channel when sound is flowing.

Each audio effect uses a row of four encoders to control parameters. Additionally some audio effects have parameters assigned to the upper three black keys on the numpad.
